Bernard Loder

Bernard Loder (1849-1935) was a Dutch jurist. He sat on the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and represented the Netherlands at various diplomatic conferences. He had a large share in the establishment of the Permantent Court of International Justice. This court was set up after the First World War as a judicial organ of the League of Nations and is regarded as a forerunner of the International Court of Justice. He was elected first president of that court from 1922 to 1925.
