Peace Palace

Professor Pietro Franzina

We proudly present one of our first “Friend of the Peace Palace”: Professor Pietro Franzina from Italy!

Professor Franzina teaches Private International Law and the Law of International Arbitration at the Catholic University of Milan. The friendship goes back twenty years ago, when the professor first visited the Peace Palace as an attendee of the Summer course of the Hague Academy of International Law. He recalls it as a great experience in which he discovered a passion for international law and decided to pursue a career in that field. Since then, professor Franzina had been back to the palace on several occasions, for reasons relating to the work of the Hague Academy itself or the Hague Conference on Private International Law, or to study at the Peace Palace Library.

Professor Franzina: “I’m truly grateful for what I got from the institutions operating at the Palace (and, indeed, the people working there!): excellent teaching, an amazing library, and a warm, inspiring and friendly environment. Becoming a ‘Peace Friend’ was the least I could do to say thank you!”
