The Hague celebrated ‘Day of Peace’ 2009 with an extended program on

20. and 21. September.

There was an open day on Sunday at the international organizations of The Hague. The Peace Palace was also open for public, you could visit the building and learn more about the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration housed in the palace, The Hague Conference located on the Scheveningseweg, was also represented.

The Muncipality of The Hague organized a great programme on Monday with a Peace Walk for 1200 children and a Peace Event on the Plein in the heart of The Hague whith a broad range of artists. dayofpeace.org

The Hague had the honour to invite Isaac Newton Farris Jr. to The Hague for this year’s keynote speech on the Day of Peace. Mr Farris is a relative of Martin Luther King and is director of the King Centre in Atlanta (Georgia).
