Peace Palace

Great-Britain

Great Britain gifted four large stained glass windows named the ‘Evolution of the peace ideal’. The four stained glass windows depict the evolution of the peace ideal in four time periods. The left window depicts Prehistory, then the Middle Ages, next to it the time when the windows were made, and lastly the future is depicted. The future image is an ideal image as this window symbolizes the achievement of peace. The artist used the colors red and purple to express violence and war (second window) and calm colors like blue and white for peace (fourth window).
