Belgium gifted the entrance door of the Peace Palace and two smaller interior doors. The doors are made of bronze and wrought iron. The exterior doors are decorated in an art nouveau style, and the upper semicircular window features an ornament of a sun. Above the doors in an oval shape appears the word PAX, the Latin term for peace. Johan van der Steur, the Dutch architect of the Peace Palace designed the entrance doors.
