Looking back: 21 September was the International Peace Day of the United Nations. As The Hague is the International City of Peace and Justice, there where several events organized in the weekend of 21 and 22 September. These events are combined in the Just Peace Festival what took place in The Hague. As an international icon of ‘Peace through law’ and a place of encounter, the Peace Palace opened its doors on 21 and 22 September in order to celebrate the International Day of Peace. The following events could be visited by public:

• 21 September: Book presentation(Dutch) – Die Waffen nieder!- Bertha von Suttner
• 22 September: Open day at the International Court of Justice
• 22 September: Open day at the Permanent Court of Arbitration
• 22 September: Open day at The Hague Academy of International Law
• 22 September: Film in the garden of the Peace Palace
