Cultural Emergency Response (CER)

On 14 October, Cultural Emergency Response (CER) will celebrate its new beginning as an independent organization at the Peace Palace in The Hague in the presence of its longstanding network of international and local partners, cultural first aiders, experts and guests from all over the world.

For this special occasion, HRH Constantijn van Oranje will give the opening keynote speech in the company of many international partners as well as distinguished guests from the Dutch Ministry and diplomatic representatives from CER’s working countries.

Since its foundation in 2003, CER has been part of the Prince Claus Fund with the aim of providing first aid to cultural heritage that is under threat or in crisis situations. Since then, CER has established itself as a leading organization in protecting cultural heritage in crisis and is ready to continue as its own organization. Among others, CER is currently taking the lead in ongoing collaborations with projects in Ukraine and Pakistan.
