The Complaint of Peace - ErasmusBack to overview
The Complaint of Peace. Desiderius Erasmus.
‘The Complaint of Peace’ is one of the most early pacifist writings of our history. In 1521 Erasmus wrote this book on the occasion of a peace conference among European elite, a conference which unfortunately never took place. Erasmus’ contribution however remained to be of value. Especially in times of insecurity and the threat of violence, ‘The Complaint of Peace’ is an important ode to a peaceful society and a plea for tolerance.
