The trusteeship of an ideal - The Carnegie Foundation: vignettes of a century. Arthur Eyffinger.
This volume was published in 2009 on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the Carnegie Foundation, the organization that owns and manages the Peace Palace. The book explicitly does not want to be a study book or reference work, offering a monolithic overview of the fortunes of the Carnegie Foundation during the first 100 years of its existence. Instead, it presents a collection of short stories, that in lively manner recount key moments in the history of the Peace Palace, from the perspective of people involved. The backbone to this diverse collection is formed by the commitment to the ideal of Peace and Justice that all these people share.
